A Masterpiece of Gothic Architecture
Standing proudly beside Florence Cathedral, Giotto’s Campanile is one of the most striking examples of 14th-century Gothic architecture in Italy. Designed by Giotto di Bondone in 1334, the bell tower is clad in white, green, and red marble, perfectly harmonizing with the façade of the Duomo.
Why Visit the Tower?
Climbing the 414 steps to the top of the bell tower offers an unforgettable panoramic view of Florence and the surrounding Tuscan hills. Along the way, you’ll get a close look at the detailed sculptures and decorative panels that adorn the exterior. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate the artistry and engineering of the time, and to capture breathtaking photos from above the rooftops of Florence.
